Hurricane Disaster Relief Update
Wednesday we had special offering to help the hurricane victims, and this morning in Sunday School you received information on making Compassion kits for those in need because of the hurricanes.
In addition to our own country being hit by the hurricanes, Haiti was hit hard, and it does not have FEMA and other agencies like we do. The Florida Baptist Convention responded immediately though and has already provided food, water, and other needed supplies; plus their disaster relief workers are there helping in many ways.
The cost of the first shipment of food and supplies to Haiti was $12,000, and they are getting ready to send another shipment of food supplies.
For those of you who did not have a chance to give Wednesday night, or if you gave but want to give again, we are going to have the ushers collect an offering today at the end of the service. I hope and pray we can provide for the second shipment of food. I also encourage every family to put together at least 1 Compassion kit.
Our offerings and these Compassion kits are just small ways we can help share the love of Jesus, and we pray they also open up doors to share the Gospel. Thank you in advance for your love and giving.
