Hearing Impaired

Welcome to the First Baptist Church Hearing Impaired Ministry. This is an exciting ministry that brings the Hard of Hearing and Deaf together for Jesus. This ministry provides various bible classes; both for deaf and for people with hearing loss who do not know sign language. We have:

  • Bible Fellowship classes each Sunday morning at 9:00 in rooms MS6-404 and MS6-406. This time includes good food, wonderful conversation, group singing, special music, memory work challenges and Bible lessons.
  • Special evening classes at 5:30 provide training for bible application of daily living and sign language.
  • Fellowships include cookouts, movie nights, fun family days, and other filled activities.
  • A Bible study is held the fourth Thursday of each month. There are exceptions however, please check FBC Hearing Impaired Calendar for more information.
  • The Bob Mays Sign Theatre presents special theatre productions during the year. See Hearing Impaired Calendar for more information. “This ministry is for the hard of hearing, persons with any level of hearing loss, persons and families that need to learn sign language and communication techniques as a result of hearing loss, late deafened persons, and those born deaf. Our purpose involves discipleship and evangelism. In discipleship we teach God's Word so that people can learn how to apply God's word to their every day life and walk more initimately with the Lord. In evangelism we teach how to talk to others about Jesus, how to give your personal testimony and how to lead others to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.”
