"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." (Colossians 3:16 ESV)

David serves as the South Campus Worship Pastor. As the youngest of four musical siblings, he has been playing music and singing as long as he can remember. David served as Associate Instrumental Director at the Downtown Campus from 2003-2009, and has been an active freelance trumpet player for over 20 years. Prior to serving at South Campus, David taught at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and Providence School, while serving in ministry at First Baptist Middleburg, North Jacksonville Baptist Church and Sunrise Community Church. David holds a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of North Florida and is currently pursuing certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). He is also, slowly but surely, pursuing an Mdiv in Biblical Counseling at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His heart is to lead our congregation in songs that are rich in biblical truth, that proclaim the Gospel, and most importantly, lift up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the Word of Christ dwelling in us that brings forth the response of worship. Worship is the response of a redeemed heart to Who God is and to all He has done.

David is blessed to have been married to his very beautiful wife Jody since 2002. They have two daughters, Emma and Molly and one son, Arith.
