Greg was born in Macon, GA, but being a Navy brat, he traveled to many states before arriving in Jacksonville in 1981. His first local job was a cook for Morrison's Cafeteria, which resulted in his lifelong career and his marriage to his wife, Margaret, whom he met while employed there.
Greg gave his life to Christ in 1984 at FBC JAX. Two weeks later, he was hired in the Food Services Ministry. In 1989, he graduated from a two-year Culinary Arts program at FCCJ. Since that time, he has completed approximately ten seminars each year learning all aspects of the food industry, including food safety, purchasing, hospitality, and school nutrition.
Greg has been a member of the Culinary Federation and is now a member of the Global Association of Christian Hospitality Projessionals (GACHP). In addition to serving the members of FBC JAX and the FBC JAX Acadmey with regular dining room hours and event catering, he also serves as the personal chef to Shad Kahn, Owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, on Game Day at Everbank Field.
When not in the kitchen, Greg enjoys HAM radio, fishing, camping, and the firing range. He and Margaret have two children, Randy and Mallory.
