Will is a native of Jacksonville Florida and has grown up here at First Baptist. The church has played a great part in the spiritual nourishment and growth of Will over the years, where many invested in his life. Through gospel-centered teaching at home and at the church, Will came to a full understanding of what it meant to be a follower of Jesus Christ as a student, which has given him a passion for the ministry in which he serves.

A recent graduate of Covenant College with a major in English and a minor in Community Development, Will has gained a heart for biblical counseling and the sufficiency of Scripture. He is currently pursuing an MDiv in Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Will has served as the Director of Student Ministries (Grades 6-12) at the South Campus since June 1, 2015. He praises God that he is able to walk along a pastoral staff that seeks to lift high the name of Jesus. Will is the youngest of two and is extremely thankful for a family that has taught Biblical truths from the start. His parents are Mark and Pam Cleland, and his older sister is Casey Stallard. Will is newly married to his beautiful wife Hannah Cleland, who teaches the truths of Scripture to young girls through ballet. He loves to go on walks with Hannah through the neighborhood, catch a nice redfish, and toss the baseball around to remember his college baseball days. Will’s favorite passage is Philippians 2:1-11, because of its beautiful description of Jesus, and his example of humility.
