At First Baptist Church we are committed to the Word of God and to helping people who struggle with counseling problems. That is why we are committed to biblical counseling. The Grace Center for Biblical Counseling exists to do this important work. We want to help struggling people know how to implement Christ’s solutions for life’s problems.

If you or a loved one is struggling, we are happy to help. The Grace Center counselors are certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), and include pastors, ministry leaders, and staff counselors. Our desire is to help you change in a way that honors Christ.

Before we can begin to help with your problem, there are a few things you need to know:

  • First, our counseling is offered free of charge to members of FBC JAX. If you are not a member of our church, we are happy to try and to accommodate you. You should know that we charge a fee of $100 for each counseling appointment, and request that if possible you bring someone from your church along with you to “walk along” with you in the counseling. This counseling advocate will be crucial to helping you implement the changes we discuss in counseling. We also ask that you have the pastor of your church complete a “Church Recommendation Form.”
  • Second, counseling at The Grace Center usually is accomplished with two counselors. This is a benefit to you as the Bible teaches that in an abundance of counselors is much wisdom (Prov. 15:22).
  • Third, the change process on display in counseling requires effort on your part. After each weekly session there will be work that you will need to do and resources that you will need to invest in. Since you will live most of your life outside your weekly counseling appointment, this work is necessary for you to change in a way that honors Christ.

I Need Counseling

The six months that my husband and I spent at Grace Center were vital in teaching us how to deal with a difficult ‘blended family’ situation... With specific instruction, firm accountability, and gentle discipline, we were reminded weekly that the Word has practical answers, effectual truths, and an abundance of encouragement...
Biblical counseling saved our marriage of thirty plus years. We had grown apart to the point we were living separate lives and divorce was on the horizon. We barely talked much less express love for one another. Biblical counseling brought us back together and more importantly back to Christ.
...Prior to our divorce after 23 years of marriage, and after having seen several non-Christian councilors for almost five years, we got in touch with a true man of God with the right tools & experience to teach us according to the Bible.
