Welcome to First Kids!  Our teachers and classrooms are overflowing with excitement as we seek to love and nurture  your kids.  We believe the preschool and elementary years are vital for teaching about the love of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have designed an entire program with a dedicated space on our campus just for your kids.   Every time your child visits our First Kids, they will experience Bible truths and stories in a relevant and meaningful way. Even babies can learn and sense God’s love and security as dedicated teachers care for them at church.

Our goal is for all of our lessons and programs to provide a solid Biblical foundation, exciting and engaged teaching, and lots of fun and fellowship in a safe and secure environment. We want to share the gospel with the children of Jacksonville and partner with parents and caregivers as they train up their children in the Lord. We have three regular opportunities each week for your children to connect at First Baptist: Sunday School, Kids Worship, and Kids Midweek.

Sunday Mornings, 10:45 am
Sunday School is the place where your kids gather with others in their grade to study, fellowship, and grow in their faith.  Classes are located in the Preschool and Children's Building.  Specific classroom locations can be found on your child's check-in sticker.  If you have questions, please contact us or stop by the registration desk on each floor.

Sunday Evenings, 6:00-7:30 pm
Join us for Kids Worship on Sunday Nights! Children in Pre-K through 5th Grade learn to worship through music, drama instruction, performance opportunities, and more! Our desire is to instill a love for praising our Lord that will impact their lives for eternity. In addition to the two concerts each year, children will have opportunities to lead in worship in some Wednesday and Sunday services.

Locations
PreK and Kindergarten: 3rd Floor, Preschool Building
1st through 5th Grade: 2nd Floor, Children's Building

Childcare for Babies - 3 year olds available in the Preschool Building

Hymn Memory Program
Our Hymn Memory program is an important component of Children’s Choir. The Hymns of the faith teach doctrine and connect the next generation to the great traditions of the church. This year, we are trying a new approach in hopes that the Hymn memory program will be used more readily for Family Worship at home, and this new model allows older children to help younger children learn. All choirs will learn the same hymns. Each child receives a "hymn book" and each family will receive one CD. Hymn Memory songs are available on PCO for downloading. Every child who sings all their hymns (first verse & chorus) by memory will receive a Hymn Memory collector pin for their grade level. One of these special hymns will be sung for our Children’s Choir Celebration on a Sunday morning in the spring.

Wednesday Evenings, 6:00-7:30 pm
Join us for Midweek on Wednesday Nights! Our MDWK gathering for kindergarten through fifth grade students is an exciting time of fun and fellowship as we dive into God’s Word and explore our big picture question. MDWK meets on the second floor of the Children’s Building Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Classroom locations can be found on your child’s check-in sticker.  Childcare for Babies through Pre-K available in the Preschool Building.
