Diane was born in Jacksonville, Florida but moved every 2 years growing up in different states; Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, Texas, and back to Florida. As a child her family went to church off and on. When Diane was a teenager, she found faith in Jesus Christ. Her desire was and is to serve Him. She graduated High School and went to college at Stephen F. Austin S. U. in Texas. Diane continued her education in Jacksonville, Florida at Florida Junior College with a degree in Dental Assisting. In September 2014, she completed the Preschool/Children's Certification Program sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. She met and married her husband Chip and raised their 3 sons, Adam, Ryan, and Taylor at First Baptist Church. During these years, Diane served the Preschool Ministry in several capacities. As a young mother, she worked as a teacher in the weekday program at church. Diane fell in love with preschool work and went to work as a preschool teacher at The Learning Tree at San Jose Baptist Church for 8 years. During that time she served as a Director with 4 year olds in Sunday School for five years. In 1997, God called her to fulltime Christian service as the 2’s and 3’s Age Group Coordinator in the FBC Preschool Ministry. She has served as an Age Group Coordinator for 15 years. In December 2013, Diane accepted the position of Interim Director of Preschool Ministries. In 2014, she became the Director of Preschool Ministries.

Her desire is that the FBC Preschool Ministry lay down a foundation of Biblical truth in the lives of preschoolers. She believes that the Preschool Ministry is the “Hand Shake of the Church.” If we can reach the children, then we can reach the family. The Preschool Ministry is the first experience a family has to lay a foundation of Biblical truth in the lives of their children. That is why our Preschool Ministry Mission Statement is Partnering with Parents to Build a Strong Foundation of Biblical Truth in the Lives of Preschoolers.

In the Bible, Jesus showed the importance of His love for children. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14 (NKJV). It is a privilege to lead the Preschool Ministry and show children the love of Jesus!
