Born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Marlene has spent most of her life in Jacksonville. She was saved during a church service at the age of 8, but re-dedicated her life to Christ in 1989. Marlene studied business at the University of North Florida and has extensive experience in the local construction industry. She joined the FBC JAX staff in 2002 where she currently serves in the Finance Department. She is responsible for supervision of the day-to-day accounting functions and human resources for the church.

A faithful volunteer in 3rd grade Sunday School and the “I Am Special” Ministry, Marlene believes we should love others as Jesus loves us. She claims the truth of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Marlene and her husband, Ernie, have one daughter, Vicki, and three grandchildren (triplets) Jacob, (Emily and Zachary, deceased). She loves spending time with her grandson, reading, and teaching children.
