Richard Lucas

Pastor of Teaching and Reaching

Richard

Richard (Ph.D., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is the Pastor of Teaching and Reaching at First Baptist Jacksonville where he oversees adult education and missions ministries. He is also a Level 2 Certified Biblical Counselor with ACBC.

Prior to his move to Florida, he served as a pastor in Vermont and as a theological mentor to church planters in New England at The NETS Center for Church Planting and Revitalization.

Richard married his childhood sweetheart, Tina, more than twenty years ago at their home church in Philadelphia. God has blessed them with four children who are all actively involved in student ministry.

Richard is the co-editor of Covenantal and Dispensational Theologies: Four Views on the Continuity of Scripture (IVP) and also a contributor to Progressive Covenantalism: Charting a Course between Dispensational and Covenantal Theologies (B&H).

Along with his family, he enjoys spending time outside in the beautiful Florida weather. Richard considers it a great joy and privilege to serve at First Baptist Jacksonville because of the church’s commitment to the gospel, the strength of the leadership, and the warmth of the people.
