A Jacksonville native, Shane was led to Christ as a sophomore by his Bible teacher at Trinity Christian Academy. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida, as well as Master of Arts degrees in Marriage and Family Counseling and Christian Education from Southwestern Theological Seminary. Following seminary, Shane served at a church in Texas for 12 years before joining the FBC JAX staff in 2011.
“God has placed within me a burning passion and compelling desire to devote my life to impacting students, “ says Shane. “My desire is to train and disciple students into a life of obedience and surrender, teaching them how to have an intimate relationship with Christ.” His favorite verses are found in Philippians 3:13-14: “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Shane and his wife, Allison, have been blessed with four children, Seth, Kallie, Luke, and Brooke. When he is not serving students, Shane loves to hang out with his family and fish.
